The Goal Builder feature was created to give your ownership over your daily goals, hold you accountable and allow you to fulfill your Daily Outlook that is calculated based on your HRV. The concept behind the Goal Builder was to change the narrative that exist within current fitness platforms. Many fitness platforms preset a fitness target for you without: 1) Knowing if you even feel like working out on that day or 2) If you can fit it into your busy schedule. This can result in feeling demotivated for not being able to complete the goal due to your schedule or injury but also feel like your "fitness streak" was unjustly stolen from you.
How Loops Goal Builder Works
Every time you receive a Daily Outlook (based on your HRV) you have the opportunity to set a personalized goal designed to keep you on track, you can also skip on a goal for that day by passing on the goal.
You have the ability to customize the exercise and your preferred duration - The Goal Builder will set the intensity and the time in Target Heart Rate Zone needed to achieve the intended outcome of every workout.
Follow these steps to set your Daily Goal:
1. Set a Daily Goal to Open a new Loop or Progress through your current Loop.
2. Select an Activity
Choose from a list of pre-set activities. Max Performance and Active Recovery Goals are tailored towards activities that will help you achieve your Target Heart Rate Goal, while Relaxation Goals are tailored towards lower intensity goals such as Meditation, Pilates and Yoga.
3. View your Target Heart Rate Zone
You can view your Target Heart Rate Zone corresponding to your Daily Outlook by selecting the info icon. The Goal Builder will tell you what Heart Rate Range you should aim to stay between during your workout to produce the most optimal outcome for your intended workout based on your Daily Outlook. If you record the activity on the Loops Apple Watch App, you can see a live feed of your Heart Rate Zones and how much time you have spent in your Target Zone.
4. Set Activity Duration
Set your Activity Duration and the Goal Builder will tell you exactly how much time you should spend in your Target Heart Rate.
5. Set Complete By time
6. Turn on Reminder
If you would like to schedule a reminder about your activity select the "Remind Me" Toggle. You will receive a reminder notification about your workout 1 Hour before the "Complete By" Time you selected.
7. Set Goal
When you are satisfied with your custom goal, select "Set Goal" and your goal will now be saved onto the Daily Goal Card on the Today Tab. Your Goal will also be added to your current Loop and the Loops Calendar. An incomplete goal will be faded out until you complete the Duration in THR Zone for the goal you set.
8. Edit Goal
If you change your mind later on in the day you can also edit your Daily Goal by selecting the "Edit Goal" text above the Daily Goal Card.
Please note that your goal is no longer editable once you record a workout.
9. Record Activity on your Apple Watch.
Once you have set a goal you can complete your Daily Goal by recording your activity on the Loops Apple Watch App or the Workout App on the Apple Watch. For more information on recording activities you can check out the article Recording Activities on Your Apple Watch.
